Kelly Plante, PhD Philosophy and Hamlet Module

Philosophy and Hamlet Module

Developed in support of Folger Shakespeare Teaching Lear to Undergraduates Grant

I co-developed the Going Beyond Lear: Philosophy and Hamlet module with Connor Newton, Sean Renkhert, and Jaime Goodrich, which is published by the Wayne State University Library on Dividing the Kingdoms: Interdisciplinary Methods for Teaching King Lear to Undergraduates: Philosophy for the Folger Shakespeare Library’s “Teaching Shakespeare to Undergraduates” grant for Jaime Goodrich’s teaching Shakespeare graduate course at Wayne State University. The module includes the four activities, creative and traditional assignments, and the service-learning activity listed below, which we mentored Wayne State undergraduate English students on how to teach to high school students at Cranbrook Kingswood Girls Middle School in Bloomfield Hills, MI during Fall 2018 semester.

Additional lesson plans I wrote as approaches to teaching Shakespeare are on the following page and published on my blog, HumanAbstracts.com.
